Biography

Jess Hadley is a registered pharmacist with almost 15 years of extensive experience in community pharmacy. She has been a managing pharmacist, proprietor and group compliance manager. Jess is one of four PDL Professional Officers and is on the Local Advisory Committee for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Her areas of interest include Schedule 8, vaccination and proprietor legislation. Jess is passionate about supporting and educating pharmacists on risk minimisation and management strategies.

Biography

Shweta Kumar is a registered pharmacist with more than 20 years of experience across a broad range of settings including community pharmacy and academia. Shweta has been an educator and course designer with a decade of experience in teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level for the Pharmacy Degree Program at University of Sydney. Shweta has been an examiner for AHPRA and was a delegate member for the Pharmacy Council of NSW. In this role she provided mentoring, performance assessments and provided regulatory expertise regarding professional performance and conduct issues. Shweta currently works as a Professional Officer for the Pharmacy Council, where she continues to educate and guide pharmacists practising in NSW. Shweta supports the Council members, HPCA staff and external stakeholders by applying her practical understanding of the legislation to diverse practice settings, whilst ensuring public and patient safety.

Biography

Monique Reyes is the Director of the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Unit and Deputy Chief Pharmacist for the Legal and Regulatory Services Branch of NSW Ministry of Health. Her unit is responsible for administering the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966 and the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008. Monique’s goal is for the public to be protected from the risks and harms that may eventuate from the supply of medicines by pharmacists and other health practitioners and for practising pharmacists and other health practitioners to be aware of and comply with their legal obligations under the Act and Regulation. For the past four years, Monique has managed the review of the Act and the Regulation and in November 2022, the new Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2022 was passed in New South Wales Parliament. Monique has a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a Master of Pharmacy (Clinical) and a Master of Health Law degree from the University of Sydney.

Biography

A registered pharmacist for over 20 years, Georgina Woods has experienced a wide range of roles within the industry including community (ownership and employment), hospital, education, consultancy, board membership, mentoring and examining. After several years as a professional officer for PDL, Georgina has worked as a professional officer for the Pharmacy Council of NSW and currently works as a senior regulatory coordinator at the Health Care Complaints Commission. Whilst this role involves risk assessment of complaints regarding of all health care providers in NSW, Georgina maintains a passion for the pharmacy industry has a keen interest public protection, education and assisting colleagues in safe and professional practice.
