Pharmacies need to consider the broader implications of this program and consider what changes they need to make to their business now! This panel discussion will cover the key issues pharmacies need to consider in order to mitigate the detrimental impacts of 60-day dispensing.

Biography

Trent Ruprecht is a Principal at PKF Sydney and Newcastle. Trent has over 17 years of experience helping pharmacy business owners to maximise their wealth and achieve their personal and business goals. A specialist pharmacy accountant, business advisor and pharmacy valuation expert, Trent has worked with more than 50 pharmacy groups (both small and large) across most major banner groups. Trent has extensive experience in retail and business growth strategies, buying / selling pharmacies, cashflow forecasting / budgeting, structuring, due diligence, preparing a pharmacy for sale, management reporting and benchmarking and is an expert in pharmacy valuations, having completed more than 600 pharmacy valuations during his career.

Biography

Professor Trent Twomey was elected as National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia in March 2021. Trent has been involved with the Guild for over 10 years and was part of the successful negotiating team for the Sixth and Seventh Community Pharmacy Agreements. He is Secretary of the World Pharmacy Council, immediate Past Chairman and Director of Advance Cairns, a Professor at James Cook University, a Council Member of the Queensland Futures Institute, and a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia. Trent and his wife are both pharmacists and own a small group of pharmacies in Northern Queensland.

Biography

Natalie Willis began practicing as a pharmacist in 1996 and in 1999 entered into a pharmacy partnership. That same year she was elected to the Pharmacy Guild’s Western Australia Branch Committee where, as the current Senior Vice-President, she is focussed on advocating for a larger role for community pharmacy in the primary healthcare landscape. Natalie is currently in her second term as a Guild National Councillor where she serves as a member of the Health Economics and Policy Committee and Clinical Governance Committee, as well as the Chair of the Policy and Regulation Sub-Committee. She has been involved in ongoing discussions with Government on 60 day dispensing and will form part of the Guild’s negotiating committee for the 8CPA.
